POOL POLICIES

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT

  • Wyndemere staff must approve use of personal equipment such as flotation devices, exercise equipment, etc. before it can be used in the pool area.

  • Wyndemere will provide kickboards, noodles, aqua belts, water weights, resistance toys.

REFRESHMENTS

  • Food and drinks are not permitted in the pool area. 

  • You may bring a water bottle into the facility; however, it must have a top that prevents spillage. 

  •  No open-topped cups, glass containers or chewing gum are not permitted anywhere in the pool area for health and safety reasons.

SCOOTERS, WHEELCHAIRS, WALKERS

  • Due to DuPage County space regulations, only canes, wheelchairs and walkers may be used in the pool area but must remain in the designated areas of the pool deck. 

  • Scooters and motorized carts, are not permitted on the pool deck.

  • At least 6 feet of deck space must remain between the edge of the pool and the wall around the perimeter.

  • Assistive devices must be placed in the appropriate areas and must not block walkways.

  • Wyndemere employees and staff are prohibited from assisting residents in the pool area.

ATTIRE

  • You must be clothed when traveling to and from the pool area.
    Swimsuit coverups must be at  least knee-length and may not be see-through.

  • Only appropriate swim attire will be allowed in the pool. 
    You will be asked to leave the pool if you do not come appropriately dressed.   
    Please do not wear street shoes on the pool deck.

  • Lockers are available for personal items and street clothes.  

  • Wearing eyeglasses in the pool is discouraged unless absolutely necessary.

    • Wear an old pair of glasses

    • Non-breakable lenses and frames are encouraged for safety
       

LOCKER ROOMS

  •  No scooters or motorized carts are allowed in the locker rooms. **

    • Park in hallway outside the locker rooms.

  • Locker rooms are available to be used before and after exercise, as needed.

  • Residents may use the lockers only while using the pool. 

  • Neither Wyndemere nor the National Institute for Fitness and Sport are responsible for lost, found or stolen items.

  • If contents are left in lockers overnight they will be removed.

  • Inquire with the staff about lost items.

    • Unclaimed lost and found clothing will be placed in the Coat Room across from the Parlor.

    • Valuables will be taken to the Front Desk.  ‘

  • Locks will not be provided.

SHOWERS

  • Per the recommendation of the DuPage County Health Department, please rinse off your body before entering the pool. 

    • Removes sweat, oils, and bacteria from the skin.

  • Body lotions and oils are not permitted in the pool.

  • If you bring your own personal care products make sure to take them with you upon leaving the locker room.

    • All products (soap, shampoo, lotions) that are not Wyndemere property will be disposed of daily.

  • Towels will not be provided.
